A little bit about JKH

I have been obsessed with the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas for over 40 years for multiple reasons. Most reasons are obvious but others are simply woven into the timeline and pathway of my life. I am married to my hero and best friend. She is an amazing human who, although retired, spends her weekdays working with challenged children who attend a small school district close to home. I spend my weekdays (when weather permits) somewhere in the region capturing special moments I am somehow fortunate to see. I truly feel I am blessed to . consistently be at the right place at the right time.

A website seems like a logical next step. I meet so many people and have so many conversations while I am out in the Ozarks that it became necessary to design and create a contact card. Previous contact cards pointed to social media. Full disclosure, I am not a fan of social media. I began making greeting and post cards for a very dear friend at church. She does not text at all. She does not want to text and chooses to communicate via mail. God bless her, I love her so much. She encouraged me to put my name on those cards and this led me to building this site. I do not chase or desire money. I am, however, trying to figure out a way to make my work available for anyone who is interested.

I absolutely love sharing my experiences through photography. I credit my Uncle Jack and my grandparents giving me a lifetime subscription of Outside Magazine for my interest in taking pictures. I'm also very grateful to my Dad, you see, he took me camping for my very first time. It was at White Rock Mountain and I have been hooked ever since then. I feel completely comfortable, secure and proud while on a trail, anywhere.

My main goal in life is pleasing God. I strive to do so. I mess up often. God's plan of salvation has restored my life and I have to share that with as many fellow humans God puts on my path. At the same time, I wish to NEVER be pushy and certainly don't want any visitor to my site to feel ambushed.
